Avon Park Correctional Institution

Avon Park Correctional Institution is located in Avon Park Florida.  It is a level IV facility that houses approximately 950 adult male inmates of various custody levels.  This facility participates in the P.R.I.D.E. program which allows inmates to work in tire remanufacturing, dishwasher repair, and sanitary maintenance.  The facility also has re-entry programs that assist in the preparation for an inmates release.

Avon Park Correctional Institution has education and vocational opportunities that all eligible inmates are encouraged to take part in.  Educational classes include basic adult education, GED courses, and substance abuse treatment.  Vocational opportunities at this facility include welding, pc repair, print and graphic communication, cabinetmaking and automotive technician.

Visiting Hours at Avon Park Correctional Institution:

Anyone wishing to visit an inmate must first fill out a visiting application and be approved prior to their visit.  Visiting hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 9am-3pm.  You must arrive prior to 2pm or you will not be allowed to visit.  You may arrive at the institution no earlier than 7:30am, processing for visitation begins at 8:15am.  All times are Eastern Standard Time.
