Central New Mexico Correctional Facility

Central New Mexico Correctional Facility is located in Los Lunas.  It has it's own reception, diagnostic and classification unit that handles the intake procedure of new commitments.  This facility has a maximum capacity of 666 offenders, and houses inmates in three distinct units.  The main unit is handles the reception and diagnostic inmates, and also has a 48 bed segregation unit.  A level I unit, and a level II unit that houses inmates with mental and medical restrictions is part of the complex.

All offenders have access to substance abuse treatment and counseling.  Additionally, offenders are encouraged to participate in educational courses to earn a GED and vocational activities that teach the inmate a new skill they can later use for employment.

Visiting Hours at Central New Mexico Correctional Facility:

All visitors must have an approved visiting application on file in order to visit an inmate.

• Level I and Level II inmates have visiting on:
  • Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30am-3pm
• ​Level III and RDC inmates have visiting on:
  • Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30am-3pm​

RDC stands for reception, diagnostic and classification.  RDC inmates are allowed visits only with immediate family members.
