Clemens Unit

Clemens Unit is a prison located in Brazoria Texas.  The facility consists of the main compound which holds 894 male offenders and the Trusty Camp which can hold an additional 321 inmates.  Inmates in Clemens Unit can work in a cattle farm operation, growing and harvesting crops, swine processing and in grain storage.  Educational programs at Clemens Unit include literacy courses, adult basic education and the ability for offenders to earn a GED.  Additional vocational courses are provided in drafting, computer repair, masonry/bricklaying, and carpentry.

Clemens Unit provides substance abuse treatment and support groups for those inmates who suffer from drug and alcohol addiction.  Religious programs and various faith worship services are made available through the Chaplains office.  Offenders at Clemens Unit can also receive life skills and job skills/employment counseling.  Additionally medical and dental care is provided to all inmates, as is mental health treatment.

Visiting Hours at Clemens Unit:

Clemens Unit has visitation on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am-5pm.  Visits are up to two hours in duration.  You can bring up to $20 in quarters in a clear Ziploc bag to use in the vending machines.
