Franklin Correctional Institution

Franklin Correctional Institution is located in Carrabelle Florida, part of Franklin county.  It is a level V facility that houses about 1,350 adult male inmates.  Custody levels at this facility include minimum, medium, and close custody.  Inmates at this facility can participate in academic programs that give them an adult basic education, earn their GED, take English second language courses and take a basic literacy course to learn to read.

This facility offers vocational skills in plumbing, giving inmates enough basic knowledge to become a residential plumbers helper.  Substance abuse treatment and religious services and classes are offered through the chaplain of the institution.  Inmates can also participate in anger management, Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous.

Visiting Hours at Franklin Correctional Institution:

You must fill out a visitors application and be approved before you visit.  Visiting hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 9am-3pm (EST).  Visitors may park in the lot no earlier than 7:30am.  Registration for visitors begins at 8:15am, last registration is at 2pm.  If you arrive after 2pm you will not be given entrance to the facility.
