Johnson State Prison
Johnson State Prison is located in Wrightsville Georgia. It is a medium security institution that houses approximately 1612 adult males who have been convicted of a felony. Inmates are housed in either an open dormitory, or in single cells. One of the dormitories is faith and character based. Two geriatric units have assisted living and support for elderly and disabled inmates.
Offenders who are eligible can participate on work crews that offer supportive labor positions for the department of transportation. Programs and counseling for inmates who suffer from mental health problems is also available. Vocational skills taught at this facility include, clerical work, culinary arts, landscaping, maintenance and custodial work, computer systems, barbering and laundry.
Visiting Hours at Johnson State Prison:
Visiting is on Saturdays, Sundays, and State recognized Holidays from 9am-3pm. Inmates who are in Segregation can have visits on Wednesdays only. Visits must be scheduled in advance by calling 478-864-4100.
