Waiawa Correctional Facility

Waiawa Correctional Facility is located in Waipahu Hawaii.  It is a minimum security facility that can house approximately 574 adult males.  All inmates incarcerated here must participate in substance abuse treatment or academic programs.  The KASHBOX is a residential substance abuse treatment program that has parenting programs for fathers and helps give inmates a change to do certain activities such as reading and play groups with their children.

Educational opportunities at this facility include the chance for inmates to earn a GED as well as an associates degree.  Work programs at this facility include the ability for inmates to work in the cafeteria, landscaping, janitorial, maintenance, and with heavy equipment.  This helps empower the inmates by giving them new skills and support healthy work habits.

Sending Money to an inmate at Waiawa Correctional Facility

If you are on an inmate's approved correspondence/visiting list you can send funds to an inmate through the mail.  All funds must come in the form of a Cashier's Check made payable to "Waiawa Correctional Facility" and have the inmate's name and ID number in the memo, the sender's complete name and address must also be listed somewhere on the check.  The maximum amount that an inmate can receive each month is $200.

Visiting Hours at Waiawa Correctional Facility:

Inmates are allowed a one hour visiting period per weekend.  Visiting occurs on Saturdays and Sundays.  Inmates are allowed to have up to three visitors at a time.  All visitors must submit a visitors application and be approved prior to visiting.  The general population has visiting on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30am to 1:30pm, if you arrive after 1pm you will not be allowed to visit.  Kashbox inmates have visitation on Saturdays and Sundays from 7:45am-9:45am, if you arrive after 9:15am you will not be allowed to enter into visitation.
