Anthony P. Travisono Intake Service Center

Anthony P. Travisono Intake Service Center is located in Cranston Rhode Island.  It is a maximum security prison that is responsible for the reception, diagnostic and classification of all male offenders in the state.  The facility is comprised of sixteen modular housing units.  Two of the housing units are used for disciplinary/administrative segregation.  Anthony P. Travisono Intake and Service Center contains it's own infirmary located in the South wing, furthermore, the South wing also contains eight housing modules.  The North wing contains the dining hall, the kitchen, visitation areas, and eight additional housing units.

Inmates are usually housed at the Anthony P. Travisono Intake Service Center for 24 days or less.  Many of the offenders are awaiting trial, or have been sentenced and are awaiting classification and custody determination which will determine their permanent facility.  On average the facility processes 1,300 offenders each month and transfers them to their new facility.  Because of the constant turn over of inmates, programs at this facility are limited to adult basic education and GED courses for inmate under 21.  Religious services and substance abuse assessments are also provided at this facility.

Visiting Hours at Anthony P. Travisono Intake Service Center:

Anthony P. Travisono Intake Service Center uses a rotating schedule according to the inmate's housing module.  Visits are conducted on a rotating basis on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in three sessions 1pm-2:30pm, 5pm-6:30pm, and 7pm-8:30pm.  You can view the current visitation schedule here.  For more information on the current rotation you can contact the facility at (401)-462-2258
