Autry State Prison

Autry State Prison is located in Pelham Georgia, part of Mitchell County.  It is a medium security institution that houses approximately 1698 adult male felons.  Inmates are housed in four open dormitories that contain bunks.  A separate building contains beds for protective custody and segregation inmates.

Offenders housed at Autry State Prison can earn a GED, learn to read, or take courses in adult basic education to further their academics.  The Chaplains office offers inmates religious services a choir group and a bible study course.  Vocational activities at this facility include shoe manufacturing, cooking, painting, automotive detailing, sanitation, basic computer skills, laundry, clerk, and horticultural work.

Visiting is on Saturdays, Sundays and State Holidays from 9am-3pm.
