Blackburn Correctional Complex

Blackburn Correctional Complex is located in Lexington Kentucky, part of Fayette County.  It is the largest minimum security institution in the state, with the ability to house over 594 adult male offenders.  Inmates incarcerated at this prison are encouraged to take academic education courses.  Any inmate who does not have a High school diploma or GED will be required to participate in educational programs that help them to earn a GED..  Inmates can also take a variety of vocational courses and earn certifications in carpentry, welding, masonry, electricity, and horticulture. Offenders can also take substance abuse courses, anger management, and work with dogs in the canine companion program.

Blackburn Correctional Complex participate in the correctional industries program which allows inmates to work in various jobs from manufacturing stackable chairs and folding tables to computer repair/refurbishment.  This facility places an emphasis on parenthood, promoting positive relationships between father and child, and even has a program that crosses over with visitation.

Visiting Hours at Blackburn Correctional Complex:

Visiting occurs on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am-3pm.  You must arrive by 2pm or you will not be allowed to visit.  Upon entry you should sign in with the staff located in the gym.
