Central Virginia Correctional Unit

Central Virginia Correctional Unit is a female field unit located in Chesterfield Virginia that opened in 1971.  It houses approximately 268 female offenders at a cost of about $21,607 per inmate each year.  Central Virginia Correctional Unit is a minimum.medium custody facility and offers work programs to eligible inmates.  Offenders can join work crews who provide a labor force for local community services.  During their incarceration inmates can receive substance abuse treatment, culinary arts classes, and receive individual and group therapy.  This facility participates in the Virginia Correctional Enterprise program employing inmates in a warehouses and print shops.

All inmates at Central Virginia Correctional Unit must meet certain criteria to be housed here.  The offender cannot have a conviction for murder, kidnapping/abduction, or sex offenses.  In addition, they cannot have any disciplinary infractions for the past two years, and need to have zero history of escape attempts.

Visiting Hours at Central Virginia Correctional Unit:

Visits at Central Virginia Correctional Unit occur on a rotating schedule on Saturdays and Sundays.  Because the schedule rotates, you will need to contact the facility for the current rotation.
