H. H. Coffield Unit
Coffield Unit is a prison located in Anderson County Texas. It is a mixed custody facility that houses offenders G1 (minimum) to G5 (maximum). Currently Coffield Unit can house up to 3,818 offenders in the main complex and an additional 321 inmates in the Trusty Camp. Offenders can work various jobs within the institution from providing facility maintenance, and staffing the library to being selected for employment in the metal fabrication plant. Furthermore some offenders can work in the surrounding community providing supervised labor for local city and county agencies.
Inmates at Coffield Unit in Texas can receive substance abuse education and treatment during their incarceration. Additional classes teach offenders life and parenting skills, and various support groups such as AA and NA are made available. Educational courses offered include adult basic education and the ability for prisoners to earn a GED. Vocational training is provided in cabinet making, construction, carpentry, computers, horticulture, drafting, welding, and automotive technologies. Coffield Unit is co-located with several other facilities and works in cooperation with these other prisons in agricultural operations that process pork, grow and harvest crops, and produce eggs from poultry.
Visiting Hours at Coffield Unit:
Inmates located at Coffield Unit in Texas have visitation on Saturdays and Sundays from 7am-5pm. Administrative segregation inmates at the Coffield Unit have visiting by appointment only on Fridays, contact the facility to schedule an appointment. Visits are two hours in duration.
