Dan River Prison Work Farm

Dan River Prison Work Farm is located in Blanch North Carolina.  It is a minimum security prison that houses 640 males.  Inmates are housed in one large dormitory split into 10 housing areas.  Offenders can be assigned work detail that includes providing food services within the institution, and working janitorial and building maintenance.  In addition, some inmates may work off prison grounds under armed supervision cleaning roadways, other inmates may be chosen to work with the North Carolina Wildlife Commission working in parks and forestry land.  The Correctional Enterprises program employs inmates in laundry and in construction projects for nearby facilities.

Dan River Prison Work Farm allows inmates to receive vocational training in carpentry, horticulture, electrical, information technology, and masonry.
