Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women

Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women is located in Clinton New Jersey, part of Hunterdon County.  The facility consists of three compounds, a minimum, a medium/maximum, and a third compound that houses offenders with special mental health issues.  The current capacity of this institution is nearly 1,000 female inmates who are 16 years or older.

Inmates at this facility can take educational and vocational courses while incarcerated.  Counseling for substance abuse, and mental health treatments are also available.  The Bureau of State Industries operates a clothing, telemarketing, and data entry program within the prison.  Edna Mahan Correctional Facility also participates in the "Puppies Behind Bars Program" which allows inmates to train guide dogs.

Visiting Hours at Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women:

The visiting hours are determined by which compound the inmate is currently in.  Up to three adults can visit at a time, no more than 6 total visitors including children.

  • Mondays and Thursdays from 7pm-9pm (registration from 6:30pm-7:30pm)
  • Saturdays from 1pm-3:30pm (registration from 12:30pm-1:30pm)
• Maximum Compound
  • Wednesdays and Fridays from 7pm-9pm (registration from 6:30pm-7:30pm)
  • Saturdays from 9am-11am (registration from 8:30am-9:30am)
