Garner Correctional Institution

Garner Correctional Institution is located in Newtown Connecticut,  This facility is a level 4 high security institution.  It houses over 500 inmates, approximately one fifth of which are pre-trial offenders.  This facility specializes in the care and treatment of male adult offenders who have mental health issues.  Programming and therapy (both group and one on one) are some of the treatments offered to inmates.

The goal of the programs at this facility are to rehabilitate the inmate mentally to the point where they can function within the general population of other prisons, or where they can functionally return to a normal life within society upon release.

Visiting Hours at Garner Correctional Institution:
