Gaston Correctional Center
Gaston Correctional Center is a minimum security prison located in Dallas North Carolina. Gaston has the capacity to house 242 adult male inmates. While incarcerated inmates can receive an adult basic education and earn a GED. Additionally, offenders can participate in various programs made available through the Chaplains office including biblical studies, and worship services. Inmates can also attend group substance abuse treatment through Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous.
Gaston Correctional Center offers work release to offenders who are nearing completion of their sentence. Work release allows the inmate to report to a job in the surrounding community during the day and return to the institution at the end of their shift. This enables the inmate to acclimate to life beyond incarceration and prepare financially for their release. Additional work opportunities are available within the correctional center including working in the kitchen, in maintenance, and doing custodial work.
