Ernestine Glossbrenner Unit
The Ernestine Glossbrenner Unit is a prison located in Duvall County Texas that specializes in the rehabilitation of inmates who suffer from addiction. The current capacity of this facility is 612 male inmates. Glossbrenner Unit is considered a Substance Abuse Felony Punishment Facility (known as SAFPF). It provides six and twelve month treatment programs designed to change offender behavioral patterns and address the root cause of substance abuse. Inmates can participate in agricultural operations that include gardening and contract grazing. Medical and dental services are available for all inmates. Offenders provide labor services to local government agencies and an area food bank. Additionally, some inmates are selected to provide supervised lectures about drug addiction to surrounding area school districts.
Visiting Hours for Glossbrenner Unit:
Visits for Glossbrenner Unit are conducted on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am-5pm. All visitors must be on the inmates approved visitation list prior to attending a visitation session. Visits are two hours in duration, and can occur once per weekend. A maximum of two adult visitors per visit is allowed. Visitors are allowed to bring a small clear Ziploc bag with a maximum of $25 in quarters with them to purchase items from the visiting room vending machines.
