SCI Greene

Greene State Correctional Institution is located in Waynesburg Pennsylvania.  It is a maximum security prison that houses the majority of death row inmates in the state.  The current capacity of SCI Greene is approximately 1,760 offenders.  Inmates are housed in eleven housing units which consist of multiple occupancy cells and open dormitory housing.  Selected inmates can work in the correctional industries program which employs 56 inmates in a garment factory operation.

Greene State Correctional Institution offers inmates adult basic education, ESL, and GED courses.  Offenders can also participate in vocational training that includes HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, and business education.  Additional mental health treatment, parenting classes, programs aimed at deterring violence, sex offender treatment, and substance abuse treatment programs are available to inmates.

Visits at SCI Greene occurs on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30am-3:30pm.
