Groveland Correctional Facility

Groveland Correctional Facility is located in Sonyea New York, part of Livingston County.  It is a medium security prison that houses adult males.  The current capacity of Groveland is 1,106 inmates.  Offenders in general population are housed in either open dormitory or in multiple occupancy rooms, troublesome inmates are housed in a 24 bed special housing unit.  Inmates at Groveland Correctional Facility can receive substance abuse treatment and mental health services.  Those convicted of sex offenses are required to receive counseling for sex offenders.

Groveland Correctional Facility is regarded as a calm facility that offers the inmates a great deal of freedom of movement.  Additionally, this facility offers inmates many vocational courses including building and custodial maintenance, computer technologies, flooring, plumbing and heating, welding, printing, horticulture, business, electrical, and small engine repair.  Special counseling is available for incarcerated veterans.

Visiting Hours at Groveland Correctional Facility:

Visiting occurs on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am-3:30pm.  Processing for visitation ends at 2:15pm, anyone who arrives after this time will not be allowed to visit.  Inmates are limited to three visitors at a time, children under the age of one are not counted as a visitor.
