Havins Unit is a pre-release facility located in Brownwood Texas. It has a maximum capacity of 596 male offenders and houses inmates in the In-Prison therapeutic Community (IPTC) program or who are designated as transient. Offenders at Havins Unit have access to substance abuse education and treatment programs. Additional programs offered include a life skills course, parenting classes, religious studies, and support groups like Narcotics and Alcoholics Anonymous.
