Idaho Correctional Institution Orofino is located in Orofino Idaho.  It is a medium custody institution that can house up to 541 adult males.  In addition to medium custody inmates, the Idaho Correctional Institution Orofino houses protective custody inmates.

The inmates are divided into units, each unit has it's own specific inmate with their own needs.  McKelway is part of the general population, Givens unit is a work camp.  All of the units offer inmates vocational and educational opportunities.  Counseling and reprogramming is also an integral part of the facilities treatments.

Visiting Hours at Idaho Correctional Institution Orofino:

You may only visit an inmate if you have been approved.  Visiting is held three times per week and is divided into groups.  General population inmates are in McKelway, A1, A2.  Protective custody inmates are A3, and projects inmates are in Givens.  This schedule does rotate every few months so contact the facility prior to visiting to ensure the times have not changed.  You must  arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the visiting times to enter into visitation processing.

  • A-1/A2 has visiting on Fridays 12:30pm-3pm, Saturdays 3:30pm-5:30pm and Sundays 6pm-8:30pm.
  • A-3 has visiting Fridays on 9:30am-12pm, Saturdays 9:30am-12pm, and Sundays 3:30pm-5:30pm.
  • McKelway has visitation on Fridays 3:30pm-5:30pm, Saturdays 12:30pm-3pm, and Sundays 9:30am-12pm.
  • Givens has visitation on Fridays 6pm-8:30pm, Saturdays 6pm-8:30pm, and Sundays from 12:30pm-3pm.
