Newberry Correctional Facility

Newberry Correctional Facility is located in Luce County Michigan.  It is a level I medium custody facility that houses approximately 1,108 adult males.  The facility consists of multiple units, all of which are double bunked with the exception of the temporary holding cells.  Inmates are secured by two sixteen foot fences lined with razor wire, and an electronic detention system.

Programs for offenders include sex offender treatment, anger management, and other courses that are geared towards changing violent behavior and problem solving through thinking.  Offenders can also earn a GED and get an adult basic education while incarcerated.
