North Idaho Correctional Institution

North Idaho Correctional Institution is located in Cottonwood Idaho.  Once a former military outpost used for radar purposes, the facility now houses up to 414 adult male inmates.  Most of the inmates at this facility are being incarcerated with the purpose of being rehabilitated and possibly released for probation.  Inmates who qualify for early release/probation will display a positive attitude and modify their behavior by participating in programs and evaluations at the institution.

North Idaho Correctional Institution can often suffer from inclement weather conditions so visitors are encouraged to dress warm in case they must wait in their vehicles.  It is one of the few facilities that will allow you to dress in multi layers, however each piece of your clothing may be subject to a thorough search.

Visiting Hours at North Idaho Correctional Institution:

You must be on the offenders approved visitation list prior to visiting.  To become approved first fill out and return a visiting application to the institution.  You must arrive thirty minutes prior to the visiting time to be processed into visitation you can arriver earlier, but no earlier than 11:30am to the parking area.  Visiting is on Saturdays, Sundays and State recognized Holidays from 12:30pm-3:30pm.
