Northpoint Training Center

Northpoint Training Center is located in Burgin Kentucky, part of Boyle County.  It is a medium security prison that can house up to 1,230 adult males.  Six open dormitories house general population inmates, special management units are housed separately in single cells.  Inmates are kept secure by two twelve foot fences encased in razor wire, electronic sensors, and four armed guard towers.  Minimum custody offenders are housed in two buildings located just outside of the perimeter fence.  Minimum inmates provide a variety of support detail to the facility.

Inmates at Northpoint Training Center can obtain their GED through an educational program offered at the prison.  In addition, inmates can also learn to read and obtain an adult basic education.  Other programs inmates can participate in focus on substance abuse treatment, parenthood, changing behavior patterns, and vocational skills.  Offenders can also receive sex offender treatment at this prison.

Visiting Hours at Northpoint Training Center:

General population inmates have visitation on Saturdays, Sundays and state recognized holidays from 8am-2:30pm and again from 4pm-8pm.  You must arrive by 1:30pm for the morning visit and by 7pm for the evening visit or you will not be permitted to enter into visitation.  
Veterans Honor Dormitories 1 and 5 have Friday evening visits from 6pm-8:30pm (you must arrive by 7:30pm).
Special Management Unit inmates have visitation by appointment only on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:15am-9:15am, 9:45am-10:45am and 12:15pm-1:15pm.
Outside detail inmates have visits on Fridays from 6pm-8:30pm and on Saturdays, Sundays and state designated holidays in two sessions from 8am-2:30pm and 4pm-8pm.
