Southern Desert Correctional Center

Southern Desert Correctional Center is located in Indian Springs Nevada, part of Clark County.  It is mainly a medium custody facility that also has two dedicated units for specialized programming.  The current capacity of this prison is 2,149 inmates.  Southern Desert Correctional Center offers inmates a variety of programing, including an automotive repair and restoration program.  Offenders can also earn a GED and college degree while incarcerated.

Other programs offered at Southern Desert Correctional Center include a Solar Panel Energy program, anger management, parenting courses, stress management, conflict resolution, gang awareness, victim empathy, and programs designed at emotional growth.  Additionally inmates can receive sex offender treatment, re-entry programming, and earn certification in forklift operation.

Visiting Hours at Southern Desert Correctional Center:

Anyone wishing to visit an inmate at Southern Desert Correctional Center must have an approved visiting application on file prior to attending a visitation session.  For more information on visiting and to verify visiting is still open you can call the visiting department Friday-Monday from 7am-3pm at (702)-879-1276.

• General Population Levels I and II have visiting on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 7am-3pm.  Visitors must check in between 6:30am-8:30am for the morning session and between 12pm-1:30pm for the afternoon session.
• General Population Level III has visiting on Mondays in two sessions, from 7am-9am and from 1pm-3pm.  Visitors must check in between 7am-8am for the morning session and between 12:30pm-1:30pm for the afternoon session.
