Varner Unit

Varner Unit in Lincoln County Arkansas is the states only Super Max Facility.  Inmates at this correctional institution are under Super Max custody and some of the most dangerous and notorious inmates are held here.  The unit has a capacity of almost 1600 offenders, some of which are death row inmates.

This facility offers inmates substance abuse treatment, education programs, such as earning a GED and basic adult education skills.  Vocational studies including agricultural and industrial jobs are available at this facility.

Visiting Hours at Varner Unit:

Visiting inmates at Varner Unit is on Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm-4pm.  Most people arrive around 11:30am when they open the gate for visitors.  Visitors need to contact the inmate prior to their visit to see which day and time they are assigned because this institution uses an alternating schedule.
