Dick Ware Transfer Facility

Ware Transfer Facility is a mixed custody prison located in Colorado City Texas, part of Mitchell County.  The facility houses up to 508 male offenders who are designated as G1, G2 or Transient.  Ware Transfer Facility is co-located with Wallace Unit and works in co-operation, to provide agricultural operations that employ many of the inmates.  Inmates can tend a unit garden, work in hay production, and provide maintenance to the unit.

Inmates located at Ware Transfer Facility have access to educational programs that include literacy courses, adult basic education, and the ability to earn a GED during their incarceration.  Additional courses are provided that teach vocational skills such as carpentry, landscaping, maintenance, and construction.  Substance abuse education, life skills courses and various support groups that include Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous are available to all offenders.

Visiting Hours for Ware Transfer Facility:

Inmates who are located at the Ware Transfer Facility are permitted visitation on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am to 5pm.  Visits are two hours in duration and end promptly at 5pm.  If you arrive anytime after 3pm you will not have a full two hour visit.  All visitors must be on the inmate's approved visitation list prior to attending a visitation session.
