Denmar Correctional Center

Denmar Correctional Center is a medium security prison located in Hillsboro West Virginia.  The facility currently houses around 235 adult male offenders.  Denmar Correctional Center is secured by razor wire fencing, and multiple electronic detection devices including security cameras.  Programs available to inmates include Alcoholics/Narcotics Anonymous, non-residential substance abuse treatment, sex offender treatment, anger management group and individual counseling, violent offenders counseling and learning, victim awareness and several other programs.  Offenders are also provided educational courses that include computer skills, thinking for a change, GED classes, and vocational training in electrical wiring and maintenance.

Denmar Correctional Center provides medical, dental and mental health services 24 hours a day.  Internal employment opportunities for inmates include working in the kitchen, laundry, and harvesting fruits and crops from the facilities garden/orchard.  Many of the vegetables and fruits that are harvested are used to feed the inmates and donated to a local food bank.

Visiting Hours at Denmar Correctional Center:

Visits at Denmar Correctional Center occur on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am-3:45pm and can be up to four hours in duration.  All visitors must be on the inmate's approved visitation list prior to visiting.  To become approved the inmate must first send you a visitors application.  Fill the application out completely and mail it back to the facility, then wait several weeks for it to be processed.  The inmate will inform you of your applications status.
