New Castle Correctional Facility

New Castle Correctional Facility is located in Henry County Indiana.  It is a medium security prison that can house approximately 3200 adult male inmates.  Offenders are held in both dormitory, and celled settings.  The facility is divided into multiple units, a general population and annex, a segregation unit, an infirmary unit, a minimum housing unit, and a mental health unit.  

Vocational programs at this facility include computer courses, building maintenance, barbering, horticulture courses, and culinary arts classes.  Inmates can also receive treatment for substance abuse, take parenting courses, receive sex offender treatment and participate in re-entry programs.  Adult basic education courses and the ability to earn a GED are some of the educational opportunities offered by New Castle Correctional Facility.

Visiting Hours at New Castle Correctional Facility:

You can visit an inmate every 14 days.  If you arrive during the last hour of visitation you will not be processed in.  Visiting days and times will depend on what unit the inmate is in.

  • General Population and Annex inmates have visitation on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30am-3:00pm.
  • Segregation inmates have non-contact visits twice a month.  You can visit on Tuesdays only from 9am-2pm.  The visit is one hour in duration.
  • Infirmary inmates who are well enough to have visitors have the same visiting times as the General Population inmates.
  • Minimum Housing offenders (includes NCA/L-Unit) have visitation on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am-3pm and evening visitations on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm-8pm.  The inmate is only allowed a visit every other weekend.  L dorm inmates are limited to 8 visitors at any one time.
  • Mental Health inmates have visitation based on their level.
    • Level 1 has non-contact visitation from 9am-2pm on Thursdays.
    • Level 2 has restrained contact visits from 9am-11am on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9am-2pm.
    • Level 3 has contact visits from 12pm-2pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9am-2pm.
    • Level 4 has visits on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30am-3:00pm.
