Rush City Correctional Facility
Rush City Correctional Facility is a level IV close custody prison located in Minnesota. It is the newest prison in the Minnesota Department of Correction and was opened in 2000. Currently the capacity at Rush City Correctional is 1000 adult males. This prison participates in the Minnesota correctional industries program, which offers work to inmates while they are incarcerated. Prisoners can foster dogs who are awaiting adoption in the dog rescue program and can even take educational courses to earn an adult basic education and GED.
Rush City Correctional Facility is comprised of six general housing units with 100 offenders in each and a dedicated unit that houses segregation and special housing units. All housing units are double bunked with the exception of segregation units. In addition, this facility has a specialized sex offender treatment unit.
Visiting Hours at Rush City Correctional Facility:
- General population inmates have visitation on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 11:30am-8:30pm. Weekday visits are 1-2 hours in duration, and only one hour on the weekend. You must arrive and register by 7pm.
- Segregation inmates have video visitation by appointment only on Saturdays and Sundays at 11:30am, 2:30pm, and 5:30pm. You must call (320)-358-0400 ext. 302 on Fridays between 11:30am and 8:30pm to schedule.
