Saint Cloud Correctional Facility
St. Cloud Correctional Facility is a level IV close custody prison located in Minnesota. This prison is responsible for the intake of all male offenders in the state. The intake process consists of taking photos and fingerprints of the inmate, then a full history, and a mental and physical evaluation. A determination will be made based on these assessments and the inmate will be relocated to a permanent facility that can best suit their needs and custody level. In some instances, the inmate may be retained at St. Cloud.
Vocational programs at this facility include a masonry program and a barbering school. Inmates can also take adult basic education classes and have the ability to earn a GED. St. Cloud Correctional Facility is the oldest correctional institution in Minnesota, and remnants of the abandoned granite quarry where inmates once excavated rock can still be seen on prison grounds.
