Central Mississippi Correctional Facility

Central Mississippi Correctional Facility is located in Rankin County Mississippi.  Inmates are initially received and classified at this facility.  The process involves the inmates going under a battery of tests that screen for STD's, HIV in addition to full medical, educational, and psychiatric evaluation.  Of all the state prisons, Central Mississippi Correctional Facility is the only prison that houses females in addition to male inmates.  Female and Male classification levels include minimum, medium, close custody and death row inmates.  The current capacity of this prison is 2,125 inmates.

Offenders housed at Central Mississippi Correctional Facility can receive substance abuse treatment, and a variety of vocational courses including cosmetology, business technology, upholstery, computer repair and more.  While incarcerated here inmates can earn a GED and obtain a basic adult education.  Vocational and educational opportunities exist so that inmates have a better chance of successful reintegration with society once released.

Visiting Hours at Central Mississippi Correctional Facility:

Quick bed A building B inmates have visits on the first and third Saturdays of every month.
Quick bed B building B inmates have visitation on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month.
C- custody offenders have visits on the second Tuesdays of each month and fifth Sundays of each month.
All visits are from 8:30am-12pm and from 1pm-4:30pm.
