SCI Chester

Chester State Correctional Institution is a medium security correctional facility located in Delaware County Pennsylvania.  It is an all male facility that houses around 1,275 inmates.  SCI Chester specializes in treating male offenders with alcohol or substance abuse problems.  The facility is comprised of fourteen housing units each with pods which contain cells.  In addition to substance abuse treatment, those offenders who are incarcerated for sexual offenses can receive sex offender programming.

Inmates at Chester State Correctional Institution can take vocational training in carpentry, barbering, and heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC).  Educational courses offered to offenders include literacy classes, adult basic education courses, and the ability to obtain a GED.  The substance abuse program at SCI Chester is offered through the not-for-profit Gaudenzia, which treats the inmates in therapeutic communities.  These communities are made up of 64 inmates each and are comprised of a four month program.

• Mondays from 2:30pm-8:30pm
• Thursdays from 2:30pm-8:30pm (Please note: the first Thursday of each month will have NO VISITATION)
• Fridays from 2:30pm-8:30pm
• Saturdays from 2:30pm-8:30pm
• Sundays from 2:30pm-8:30pm
