Ventress Correctional Facility in Alabama houses around 1200 inmates up to a custody level of medium.  Many of the inmates participate in a supervised community service within the surrounding area.

Ventress was originally established as a treatment facility to help those who suffer from drug and alcohol addiction.  Today it maintains this goal as one of the primary missions of the institution.  Inmates housed at Ventress can participate in a variety of activities and educational programs offered through a nearby college.  This facility also has a vocational program where inmates can learn a useful skill.

Visiting Hours at Ventress Correctional Facility:

The visiting hours for Ventress correctional facility are Saturday and Sunday from 8am-11am.  Visitors can drive into the parking lot at 7:30am, it may seem early but you will have to sign in to visit and the parking lot will fill quickly.  Anyone in your car must be allowed to visit with the inmate, no one is allowed to stay inside your car or on prison property while you visit.  The visiting days and time will alternate depending on the first letter of the inmate's last name, so contact the inmate or the institution for the current day and time you can visit.
