Rose M. Singer Center is located on Rikers Island in East Elmhurst New York.  It is a jail that houses female inmates and even has a twenty five bed baby nursery.  The current capacity of this facility is 2,017 inmates.  Offenders are usually housed here for short terms while they await trial or to serve out a jail sentence of less than one year.

Robert N. Davoren Complex is part of Rikers Island and located in East Elmhurst New York.  This facility houses both adolescent males (aged 16-17) and adult males.  Adolescents are housed separately from the adults.  Inmates are incarcerated in dormitories, and cells.  The current capacity of Robert N. Davoren Complex is 2,238 male inmates.

Queens Detention Complex is located in Kew Gardens New York.  It is a jail that houses male inmates who are currently awaiting trail in Queens County.  All offenders will undergo the intake process when they are initially confined to the Department of Corrections.

Otis Bantum Correctional Center is located on Rikers Island in East Elmhurst New York.  This facility is responsible for the Department of Correction's Central Punitive Segregation Unit which can house 400 inmates.  Offenders at this facility can be contained in dormitories or cells.

North Infirmary Command is located on Rikers Island in New York.  It is responsible for the infirmary care of inmates on Rikers Island and is comprised of two buildings.  Inmates are housed in specialized units some of which require protective custody, others are contained here because they have HIV and Aids.

Manhattan Detention Complex is comprised of two buildings, a North Tower and a South Tower.  The two towers are connected by an elevated enclosed walkway.  The South Tower was formerly known as the Tombs/Manhattan House of Detention.  Currently this facility houses 898 adult males.  The majority of inmates at the Manhattan Detention Complex are awaiting trail in Manhattan.

George R. Vierno Center is a jail located on Rikers Island in East Elmhurst New York.  It opened in 1991 and has had several additions added onto it, today it can house 1,330 adolescent to adult male inmates.  This jail has seen several riots in recent years, and in 2014 a departmental investigation resulted in nine officers being charged with various corruption charges.

George Motchan Detention Center is located in East Elmhurst New York.  Originally this facility was opened as a correctional center for Women, but in 1988 it switched to a detention center for men.  Today the George Motchan Detention Center has the capacity to house 2,098 male offenders.  The facility is named after a corrections officer who was killed while working.

Eric M. Taylor Center is located in East Elmhurst New York and was formerly known as the Correctional Instituion for Men.  It is a jail that houses both adult and juvenile male offenders.  Many of the inmates at this institution are used as a labor force and provide landscaping, maintenance, and industrial duties to Rikers Island.
