Gib Lewis Unit

Lewis Unit is a State Prison located in Woodville Texas, part of Tyler County.  The facility houses up to 2,319 male offenders of custody levels that vary from G1 minimum to G5 maximum security.  Over 1,400 inmates are housed in multi occupancy cells.  An additional 376 offenders are housed in an open bay dormitory, and 457 inmates are detained in single cells.

LeBlanc Unit is a pre-release facility located in Beaumont Texas.  This prison houses minimum security offenders that include those of G1 and G2 custody levels.  LeBlanc Unit has the capacity to house 1,224 adult male offenders.  The facility is located on 776 acres that are shared with Stiles and Gist Units.

Kyle Correctional Center is a minimum security prison located in Hays County Texas.  The facility opened in 1989 and has the capacity to house 520 male inmates.  Kyle Correctional Center, sometimes referred to as Kyle Unit, is privately run through the Management Training Corporation (MTC).

Kegans State Jail is a mixed custody facility that houses short term and transient inmates in Houston Texas.  The facility is named after a former state district judge.  The current capacity of Kegans State Jail is 667 male offenders.  The majority of inmates at Kegans State Jail are low risk non-violent offenders from Harris County.  Most inmates at Kegans State Jail are within 120 days of release.

Clyde M. Johnston Unit

The Clyde M. Johnston Unit is a Substance Abuse Felony Punishment Facility located in Winnsboro Texas.  Johnston Unit can house a maximum of 612 adult male offenders who are classified as a substance abuse custody level.  Offenders can receive substance abuse treatment, participate in support groups, and receive courses in parenting, life skills, and literacy.

Beauford H. Jester Units I, III, and IV are prison facilities located in Richmond Texas.  The facilities are co-located on 933 acres of land.  Jester I unit can house a maximum of 323 male substance abuse offenders and is classified as a Substance Abuse Felony Punishment Facility.

Hutchins State Jail is a mixed custody facility located in Dallas Texas that houses both inmates awaiting trial and offenders who have been sentenced.  Custody levels at Hutchins State Jail range from J-1 (minimum jail level) to J-5 (maximum jail level) and also include G1, G2 (state prison minimum custody levels), and transient offenders.

Huntsville Unit

Huntsville Unit is a medium custody prison located in Walker County Texas.  The facility, which opened in 1849, is sometimes referred to as "Walls Unit" due to the large brick wall that surrounds the building.  Huntsville Unit has the distinction of being the facility which houses the execution chamber in the State of Texas.

Hughes Unit is a maximum security prison located in Gatesville Texas, part of Coryell County.  The facility houses a maximum of 2,984 male inmates, who range from G-1 (minimum custody) to G-5 (maximum custody.  Additionally, Hughes Unit has an administrative segregation unit and safekeeping unit.  This prison opened in 1990 and is situated on 390 acres of land.
