Lakeland Correctional Facility is located in Coldwater Michigan. It is a level II facility that can house up to 1,466 adult male inmates. Offenders are mostly housed in a dormitory setting, smaller rooms are shared by inmates who have displayed exceptionally good behavior.
Kinross Correctional Facility is located in Kincheloe Michigan, part of Chippewa County. Currently, Kinross Correctional Facility can house 1,910 level I and II adult males. This prison has the distinction of having the largest fenced area of any Michigan prison.
Ionia Correctional Facility is mixed custody prison located in Michigan that houses level II and V adult males. The facility consists of five housing units that are level V and two housing units for level II inmates. Two of the level V units are administrative segregation. Offenders are secured by two twelve foot high fences covered in razor wire.
Gus Harrison Correctional Facility is located in Adrian Michigan. It is a multi custody facility that houses level I, secure level I, level II and level IV inmates. Currently this prison has a capacity of 2,370 adult males. The prison is named Gus Harrison after the first Michigan Department of Corrections Director.
G. Robert Cotton Correctional Facility is located in Jackson Michigan. It is a mixed custody facility housing level I, secure level I, level II and level IV adult male inmates. Currently, this facility has a capacity of 1,974 inmates.
Earnest C. Brooks Correctional Facility is located in Muskegon Heights Michigan. It has level I, II, and IV inmates and has a capacity of 1,246 adult males. This prison consists of three level II housing units that hold 240 inmates each, two level IV units that hold 384 inmates, and a single level I unit that holds 120 offenders.
Cooper Street Correctional Facility is located in Jackson Michigan. It is a secure level I facility that houses minimum custody adult males. This prison provides release services to inmates who are about to be discharged, paroled or transferred into community center placement. Inmates can receive on site medical, dental and mental health treatment.
Chippewa Correctional Facility is located in Kincheloe Michigan. The prison itself is comprised of an East and West side. The West side was formerly known as Straits Correctional Facility and consists of eight level II units with 140 beds each.
Charles Egeler Reception and Guidance Center is located in Jackson Michigan. It is a reception and guidance center that is responsible for the intake and processing of all adult male offenders within the Michigan Department of Corrections.
