Hazel D. Plant Women's Treatment Facility is located in New Castle Delaware. It is an all female facility that offers substance abuse treatment through a program called Crest. Crest was designed to help reduce the recidivism rate by treating the root cause of the inmates crime, which is often a substance abuse problem.
The Central Violation Probation Center is located in Smyrna Delaware. It is a level four facility that incarcerates males who have violated the terms of their probation, and has a current capacity of 250.
The department of corrections has acknowledged the importance of inmates maintaining their personal relationships with outsiders during their incarceration. Often times people overlook visitation thinking that talking on the phone is enough, but visitation can play a pivotal role in the inmates rehabilitation and eventual successful reintegration with society.
Inmates who are incarcerated in Delaware are allowed to receive letters and cards through the mail. You can send written correspondence to an inmate using the inmate mailing address provided on the facilities landing page.
You can also mail inmates 4"x6" photos. They may not be Polaroid or instant photos, and cannot contain any nudity or have anything sexually suggestive in them.
Baylor Women's Correctional Institution is located in New Castle Delaware. It is currently the only state prison that houses women in the state, and it holds both female inmates who are awaiting trial, and female inmates who have already been sentenced.
York Correctional Institution is located in Niantic Connecticut. It is a level 2-5 facility, meaning it houses inmates from varying custody levels of minimum to maximum security. The institution has a capacity to house approximately 430 inmates, under 30 of which are pre-trial offenders. This is the only facility for females in the entire state.
Willard-Cybilski Correctional Institution is located in Enfield Connecticut. It is a level 2 security institution which means it is medium low security. The facility has a capacity of approximately 1,160 inmates, a small portion of which are pre-trial detainees.
Robinson Correctional Institution is located in Enfield Connecticut. It is a level 3 facility, which means it houses medium security offenders. Robinson houses almost 100 pre-trial inmates, with a total capacity of approximately 1,450 offenders.
Osborn Correctional Center is located in Somers Connecticut. This facility is considered a level 3 medium security institution. It currently houses over 1,900 inmates in 17 different housing units, approximately 300 of the inmates are pre-trial detainees.
Northern Correctional Institution is located in Somers Connecticut. It is a level 5 maximum security facility, and houses mostly pre-trial inmates. This facility also houses death row inmates.
