Enfield Correctional Institution is located in Enfield Connecticut.  It is a level 3 facility that houses over 700 medium security inmates.  A small portion, less than 30 inmates are pre-trial detainees.  This facility has instituted programs that highlight the importance of parenting and childhood development.

Located in Cheshire Connecticut, the Cheshire Correctional Institution is a level 4, high security facility that houses adult offenders who are serving long sentences.  The facility is home to over 1,300 inmates, and operates multiple units within the facility include the general population of inmates, a protective custody unit, and special management unit.

Inmates incarcerated in Connecticut may receive letters from anyone, and may send letters to anyone with the exception of their victims, other inmates, or recently paroled inmates.  Their is no limit to the number of letters that may be sent or received by the inmate, however the inmate must pay their own postage.

Offenders can also receive 4"x6" photos.  The photos may not be instant or Polaroid photos.  The images may also not contain any nudity, sexually suggestive material or have any hand/gang symbols or tattoos in them.
