Ventress Correctional Facility in Alabama houses around 1200 inmates up to a custody level of medium. Many of the inmates participate in a supervised community service within the surrounding area.
Tutwiler Prison for Women handles all the intake for women entering the prison system in Alabama. Because it acts as a classification/intake facility and due to the fact that it has death row inmates, it is considered a maximum security institution. It is home to nearly one thousand inmates.

Red Eagle honor farm is a minimum security prison that houses over 250 inmates. Inmates can do various jobs such as work on a road crew, landscaping jobs etc. This facility serves as a stepping stone for inmates who are getting ready to reintegrate with society. Many of the inmates are on work release and some of the inmates even help in the construction of government buildings.
