Hardeman County Correctional Facility is located in Whiteville Tennessee. It is a medium security prison that can house a maximum of 2,100 male inmates. This is a privately ran facility under a contract with Correctional Corporations of America (CCA). Vocational training and academic courses are available to all inmates.

The mail room staff will open and inspect all incoming mail for contraband, and may read the contents of mail to ensure the safety and security of the institution. Legal mail may be opened and inspected in the presence of the inmate but will not be read. When an inmate is transferred to a different facility their mail will be forwarded for a short period of time, usually around thirty days.

The current capacity of this facility is 24 offenders. During the juveniles stay they are provided with clothing, medical and dental treatment, and a variety of individual and group counseling.
Yankton Minimum Unit is a minimum security correctional facility that houses approximately 281 adult males. This facility is operated as a satellite unit to the Mike Durfee State Prison. Inmates at the Yankton Minimum Unit can participate in community service projects, provide daily support services to the Human Services Center, and may be eligible for the work release program.
STAR Academy is a juvenile correctional facility located in Custer South Dakota. STAR stands for State Treatment and Rehabilitation Academy. The facilities that make up the STAR Academy include the Patrick Henry Brady Academy, the Youth Challenge Center, and QUEST. The STAR Academy is an accredited middle school and high school.
South Dakota Women's Prison is located in Pierre South Dakota and is a multi custody facility that houses over 352 female offenders of maximum, medium and minimum security. The facility is comprised of multiple law enforcement buildings and is part of the Solem Public Safety Center. E-Unit is a minimum security unit located just outside of the perimeter fence.

This facility houses adult males and provides all offenders with mental health, medical, and dental treatment. Additionally, some inmates at the Rapid City Minimum Unit will qualify for the work release program.
