Wynne Unit is a medium custody prison located in Huntsville Texas, part of Walker County. The facility opened in 1883 and opened as the current unit in 1939. Wynne Unit houses over 2,620 inmates 2,300 in the main unit, and an additional 321 offenders in the Trusty Camp. Offenders range in custody levels from G1 to G4. Wynne Unit shares land and many inmate operations with the Holliday Unit.

The facility was established in 1997 and is situated on 15 acres of land. Additionally, Woodman Unit is co-located with three other units; Crain, Murray, and Hilltop on 1,283 acres.

The facility is situated on 601 acres and is co-located with the Formby State Jail.
Ware Transfer Facility is a mixed custody prison located in Colorado City Texas, part of Mitchell County. The facility houses up to 508 male offenders who are designated as G1, G2 or Transient. Ware Transfer Facility is co-located with Wallace Unit and works in co-operation, to provide agricultural operations that employ many of the inmates.
Wallace Unit is a medium security prison located in Colorado City Texas, part of Mitchell County. Situated on over 520 acres, Wallace Unit is co-located with the Ware Unit, and houses up to 1,384 adult male offenders in the main unit, and an additional 64 inmates in the work camp. Inmates at Wallace Unit can be G1, G2, or G4 security levels.
Vance Unit is a minimum security prison located in Richmond Texas. The facility dates back to 1885 and was originally named Harlem II Unit, later it was renamed after a Texas Governor and became the Jester II Unit. In 1999 it was renamed a third time and became the Carol S. Vance Unit.
