Western Kentucky Correctional Complex

Western Kentucky Correctional Complex is located in Fredonia Kentucky, part of Lyon County.  It is a medium and minimum custody prison that can house up to 693 female inmates.  One of the more unique aspects of this institution is that it manages a farm.  The farm consists of cattle, 800 acres of crops, an apple orchard, and a large composting operation.

Roederer Correctional Complex is located in LaGrange Kentucky, part of Oldham County.  It serves the department of corrections in several ways, primarily by acting as an intake assessment and classification center that processes all adult males in the state (except for Death Row inmates).

Northpoint Training Center is located in Burgin Kentucky, part of Boyle County.  It is a medium security prison that can house up to 1,230 adult males.  Six open dormitories house general population inmates, special management units are housed separately in single cells.

Luther Luckett Correctional Complex is located in LaGrange Kentucky, part of Oldham County.  This prison houses medium and minimum custody inmates.  Currently this facility has a capacity of 1,097 adult males.  Luther Luckett Correctional Complex consists of two separate facilities, the Kentucky Correctional Psychiatric Center and the physical plant.

Little Sandy Correctional Complex is located in Sandy Hook Kentucky, part of Elliott County.  It is a mixed custody prison that can house over 1,000 adult male inmates.  In addition to two medium custody general population living units, Little Sandy Correctional Complex has a minimum security unit, and a maximum security special management unit.

Kentucky State Penitentiary is located in Eddyville Kentucky, part of Lyon County.  It is the only maximum security prison in the state and can house over 856 adult males.  This facility is also responsible for housing all male death row inmates in the state.  Offenders at this institution can participate in many programs that treat underlying conditions of the inmate's incarceration.

Green River Correctional Complex is located in Central City Kentucky, part of Muhlenberg County.  The prison incarcerates approximately 982 adult males who are of medium and minimum custody levels.  Inmates who are in one of the three medium custody units are housed in double bunk beds.  The segregation unit, which is maximum security, houses inmates in single cells.
